OUR HISTORY
HUMILITY
The acknowledgement to stay grounded and show gratitude towards the culture of our town.
We put others before ourselves.
One of the core purposes of our program is developing the person just as much as developing the player. Throughout our time with the players we constantly refer to, and embed, our club values into the work we commit to both on and off the field of play. Our consistency with this helps promote a high trust environment that allows our people to take risks, make mistakes and adopt a growth mindset, while also equipping them with the tools to deal with the inevitable setbacks and challenges that go hand in hand with a highly aspirational pathway.
We are also extremely proud to offer our players a number of opportunities to challenge themselves and to contribute positively to the wider club and the local community as part of their personal growth journey with us.
UNITY
Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.
One community - One dream - One Club
INDUSTRY
A town built on ship building and coal mining; diligent, hard working industries.
We are persistent in our pursuit to constantly improve.
Better Never Stops.
OUR VALUES
Our core values mean a great deal to us here at South Shields Football Club and are Unity, Humility and Industry. They are the non-negationables that we expect from everyone associated with the club including staff, players and supporters. Our students athletes have a responsibility to embody these key traits in everything that they do. Take a look below as to what each of them mean.
Originally formed in 1888, South Shields Football Club has a rich history having experience of winning silverware at the home of English Football, Wembley Stadium in 2017, competing in the Football League against teams such as Manchester United in 1925 as well as regional success winning the Northern League title with 107 points in 2015.
2013 marked the 125th anniversary of the football club and also the founding of South Shields Women’s Football Club. With three league promotions already, there is a great amount of pride in their short history.
With the clubs bid to become increasingly community owned a share scheme was launched in 2020 with 1,000 people investing to become shareholders in the club.
